How we plan for the future of the Manning Valley
Effective planning and reporting helps us to implement actions that are in-line with agreed long-term objectives that have been identified by our community and council.
Our planning and reporting aims to focus on broad issues to address the following questions:
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to be in ten year’s time?
- How will we get there?
- How will we know we’ve arrived?
We plan for the future of the Manning Valley by integrating various plans including;
Manning Valley Community Plan - 20 year aspirations for the Manning Valley
Delivery Program - Our four-year plan to address the Community Plan
Operational Plan - What we'll deliver in a year toward the Community Plan
How do our plans fit together?
Our community has been involved in helping us to develop the Manning Valley Community Plan, which outlines where we want to be by 2030. At the end of every four-year Council term, we produce an End of Term Report to outline how we think we are progressing towards these aspirations.
Our four year plan, known as the Delivery Program, details the principal activities to be undertaken by the us in order to achieve the objectives in the Community Plan. The Resourcing Strategy is component of the Delivery Program and consists of three interlinking documents; the Long Term Financial Plan; Workforce Management Plan; Asset Management Plan. Our Annual Report is our progress tool against achieving the goals and aspirations of our community.
Our yearly plan, known as the Operational Plan, outlines key initiatives being undertaken over a financial year and the methods we use to measure our performance. The progress of these initiatives can be viewed in our Quarterly and Monthly Reports.
