Swimming pools and compliance - Child safe pools

Do you have a child safe pool?

All pools are required by law to have 'child safe' barriers. Your pool needs to have a child safe fence & gate in order to meet current safety standards.

Home pool environments are a place of fun and enjoyment. However a home pool can become unsafe over time. This is a risk for children who are attracted to water.

There are laws and standards your pool needs to comply with to be 'Pool Safe'

  1. Your pool barrier (fence & gate) needs to meet current child safety standards.
  2. All NSW pools must be registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register.
  3. Your pool will require a Swimming Pool Certificate of Compliance if you sell or lease your property from 29 April 2016.
