Vehicle access to beaches

Vehicles with a current beach permit can access our beaches at the locations listed below.  

Beach permits may be purchased at the visitor information centre, council and local tackle shops.

Harrington Beach

5 km accessible Access points:

• Rutile Road, Crowdy Head

• via Rainforest Road, Harrington

North Corner

Manning Point

 

Total length 10.10 km
Access points: through Manning Point Reserve

Northern end: signed nesting sites of endangered shore birds (current nesting sites are identified on this map).

Old Bar Beach

Access points:

North on Mudbishops Road

Old Bar Beach south of the Mudbishops access point (on Mudbishops Rd) to Wallabi Point. Southern end: signed nesting sites of endangered shore birds (current nesting sites are identified on this map).

Farquhar Park Reserve

Closed until further notice

via Manning Point Beach

Signed nesting sites of endangered shore birds (current nesting sites are identified on this map).

Wallabi Point Beach

Boat launching only at:

Saltwater Road north of Saltwater Reserve

Total length 1.25 km
With exception of boat launching which is restricted to the southern corner.

Black Head Beach Front Beach

Boat launching access point is adjacent Surf Club

Total length 1.30 km With exception of boat launching

Tuncurry Beach (also known as Nine Mile and Black Head Back Beach)

10.5 km accessible Access points:

• 0.2 km from north end at Black Head (right hand turn only)

• end of Beach Street, Tuncurry

0.2 km north corner at Black Head (area known as "Back Beach")

0.8km at the southern end on Tuncurry Beach
