Volunteering with us

We are fortunate to have a large number of individuals and groups volunteering their time to assist us provide services to our community.

If you would like to join them and contribute some of your time towards making our community an even better place to live and visit, here are some of the many opportunities on offer.

Volunteers are a vital part of the Manning Entertainment Centre. Taree and Branch Libraries

Our central Library in Taree, and branch libraries in Wingham, Harrington, Halliday’s Point, and Old Bar provide a wonderful source of enjoyment and relaxation for the community. We welcome the assistance of volunteers at each of these locations with the daily running of the library services.

Parks and Reserves

One of the Manning Valley’s biggest assets is its beautiful environment and a lot of work is put in by volunteers to maintain it for the community to enjoy. Volunteers do significant work in bush regeneration, clearing weeds, mowing lawns and maintaining some of our beautiful gardens. If you would like to volunteer as a part of one of the local Landcare groups, please contact Manning Landcare on 0427 530 681. We also have a number of local community groups who volunteer their time to help maintain the road reserves and park areas of our community.

Manning Valley Visitors Information Centre

Our Visitor Information Centre is an important first point of contact for visitors to the Manning Valley, as well as residents. The centre is run by our employees who are greatly assisted by volunteers. For more information on how you can become a volunteer with us, please call us on 6592 5399, or send us an email
